Alcibiades was the most gifted man of the ancient world. Physically imposing, strategically brilliant, charismatic beyond anyone of his era. He walked into any room and owned it. He conceived the most ambitious military campaign in Greek history and would likely have won it.

He died alone in a foreign country, killed by enemies he had made through his own conduct. Athens didn't mourn him. Sparta didn't honor him. Persia didn't remember him.

He had every gift. He never learned to govern them.
