The Story
God didn't wait until Joshua felt ready.
He had spent forty years watching Moses lead. Forty years learning what it looked like to stand between a nation and its destruction. Forty years knowing that one day it would be his turn.
Then Moses died. And God spoke directly to him, not with a battle plan, not with a guarantee of easy victory, but with a command that cut straight to the thing Joshua actually needed to hear:
Be strong and courageous.
Not because the walls of Jericho weren't real. Not because the armies waiting for him weren't dangerous. Not because the weight of two million people depending on his decisions wasn't crushing. But because none of that was the deciding factor.
The Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
That was the whole equation. The presence of God didn't make the walls smaller. It made the question of whether to advance irrelevant.
Joshua knelt. He received the command. Then he stood up and led his people into the impossible.
The man on this shirt isn't defeated. He isn't broken. He's a warrior doing the one thing that required more strength than anything that waited on the other side of those walls, acknowledging that the outcome was never his to control, and stepping forward anyway.
Be strong and courageous. Joshua 1:9
