The History behind the design
Nobody sent him.
His brothers were there, the soldiers, the men of fighting age, the ones who had trained for this. He was there to bring them bread. He was seventeen years old and his job was to carry food to the front and come back.
He heard the giant's voice across the valley and asked a question nobody else was asking. Not "how do we fight him", that was already settled, nobody was fighting him. He asked "who is this man that he should defy the armies of the living God?"
They told him to go home.
He didn't.
He walked into the valley with a sling and five smooth stones, no armor, no sword, no military training. The giant laughed. The armies of two nations watched in silence. And a shepherd boy did what every soldier on that field had decided was impossible.
He didn't do it because he was the strongest man there. He was nowhere close. He did it because he was the only one who believed the giant could fall.
That's not a military story. That's not even a courage story. That's a faith story, the specific, terrifying kind of faith that makes you walk toward the thing everyone else has already decided cannot be beaten.
The giant always falls. It just takes someone willing to throw the stone.
